Take this with an entire can of Morton's. Saw it on Reddit that Mazda is looking at making the next Speed 3 a turbo skyactiv motor with awd.
The Japanese source told the magazine the 2.5-litre turbo Skyactiv-G engine could be ready for release within two years, suggesting the Mazda3 MPS could arrive in 2016. The drivetrain is said to be all-wheel-drive with a six-speed manual transmission.
And the outputs? A bench test has confirmed 320ps (235kW) of power but final output is likely to be 300ps (220kW) depending on the tuning, according to the report.
That's 315 Horsepower in American for you kids

So I've set myself a time frame of January 2016 to purchase a new vehicle. It *was* a toss up between the FiST, FoST and Genny Coupe but now you've added this little morsel to the equation. It'll be an interesting couple of years.

Fantastic, then they can give the MS6 a turbo 6 and AWD. I suppose Ford's TT 3.5 is too much to ask, but how about the 2.7?

So Mazda could be the Subaru I hoped Subaru would become and Subaru has become a shell of it's former self...interesting.

Yeah, a real shame because the 6 deserves a real drivetrain (not FWD, not 4-cylinder), and a TT Ecoboost would do the job nicely.

Hmm, thats pretty awesome, but id worry about price, especially here in Canada. 300+hp and AWD is great until you're paying ~$40k for it. That said, i just want a MS3 version of the current gen 3, even if power is feed to the front wheels, torquesteer be damned. Hell, lets start slow and give us the manual with the 2.5L.
Also I like that render, i m a sucker for a good hood scoop.
